I thought you would want to know that Johanna passed away suddenly over the weekend. Here is her obituary from today's paper:
Johanna Lillias Merrifield, 28 PORTLAND -- Johanna Lillias Merrifield, 28, of Stevens Avenue, died suddenly Jan. 2, 2009, at her home. Born in Portland, she was a daughter of Lawrence M. Merrifield Jr. and Andrea P. Tucker Merrifield. Johanna was a 1998 graduate of Bonny Eagle High School and was currently enrolled in SMCC. For many years, she has been in jewelry sales and was currently employed at Kohl's in Westbrook. She had been a Girl Scout and was very active in the music program in high school. Johanna enjoyed genealogy and was currently researching her Mayflower ancestry. She is remembered as a very kind person with a great sense of humor, a very friendly personality and a great love for children. Surviving are her parents, Lawrence and Andrea; her paternal grandmother, Perces Phinney Merrifield of North Gorham; a sister, Alisa M. Saunders of Natick, Mass., her brother, Jonathan C. Merrifield of Portland; and her companion of several years, Jason Graffam. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham. The Rev. Dr. Larry Kalp will officiate.
