Service description Entered bootcamp training September 1989 after 2 months of basic training in Orlando, Florida went to basic seamenship school for one month. First tour of duty stationed in San Diego, CA on ARCO ARDM5 a drydock for the submarines. Started training to become photographer and worked for Public Relations Office. Went to Navy Photography school in 1993 in Pensacola, Florida. Next tour was in Washington DC working for the Navy's television show. In 1994 I won 2 military video photography awards that helped me get into the Navy's video program at Syracuse University for one year. I received qualification to become a director. My next tour of duty was in San Diego working as a video stringer for the same show. My beat with one other Navy photographer was from San Diego to Seattle Washington. I covered events from earthquakes, Homecomings, Marines, Super Bowl 32,Fleetweeks, military movie premiere and awards. I left the Navy in 2000 and am currently a reservist in Washington DC. |
