What is Dániel Sallói known for?

Dániel Sallói, born on 19 July 1996 in Siófok, Hungary, is a well-known professional soccer player who is currently part of the Sporting Kansas City team in Major League Soccer. Standing tall at 1.85 meters (or around 6 feet 1 inch), Sallói showcases his skills as both a striker and a winger.

Sallói's journey to becoming a professional footballer began in 2005 when he joined the youth ranks at Újpest FC in Budapest, Hungary. His commitment and skill earned him the titles of U16 and U17 academy Player of the Year during his respective seasons with the teams. The U21 team, of which he was a part, secured second place in Hungary's U21 championship for the 2013/14 season.

In 2014, Sallói took a bold step and traveled to the United States as a foreign exchange student. He attended Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas. He joined the U18 academy of Sporting Kansas City where he scored a team-high 21 goals in 28 appearances during the 2014/15 academy season.

After his stint with Sporting Kansas City, Sallói returned to his former club Újpest FC in 2015 to sign for the first team. His performance was impressive, scoring seven goals and four assists in sixteen matches in all competitions.

He returned to Sporting Kansas City in 2016 on a professional contract, becoming the club's fourth all-time homegrown player due to his residence in the area and his previous playtime for the club's academy team. In the 2016 Major League Soccer season, prior to his return, Sallói had been loaned to Sporting’s reserve side, the Swope Park Rangers, where he scored four goals in ten league appearances.

On the international stage, Dániel represented Hungary at various levels, including the U18, U21, and the senior team.

As of October 2022, Dániel has made 170 appearances for Sporting Kansas City, scoring 48 goals. He also made appearances for other teams, such as Újpest FC, Swope Park Rangers, and Gyirmót under loan, where he demonstrated his proficiency in goal scoring.
