Borowy's professional journey started off with the New York Yankees, where he pitched from 1942 to 1945, followed by a stint with the Chicago Cubs from 1945 to 1948. He also had notable runs with the Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh Pirates in 1950 and concluded his career with the Detroit Tigers from 1950 to 1951.

His impressive career statistics include a win-loss record of 108-82, 690 strikeouts and an earned run average of 3.50. He debuted in MLB on April 18, 1942, with his last appearance marked on September 14, 1951, for the Detroit Tigers.
