About Dottie Lynn Kassem Riviere, 60, of Roswell, GA died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at home. She was born January 16, 1955 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to Shakeep Kassem and Lou Morrell Kassem of Blacksburg, VA and had lived in Roswell since 1998. Dottie was a member of Mount Pisgah UMC where she was blessed to be a member of the choir and served with the youth ministry and with the drama ministry. Dottie graduated from Blacksburg High School and from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA with a degree in communications/theater. She retired from Chamblee First UMC as the director of the Parents Morning Out program, where she loved on the children and their parents, helping them have a positive first school experience. Dottie was also active in the North Georgia Walk to Emmaus community. Her greatest joys were being with her family and praising Jesus. Survivors include her husband of 25 years, James Clifford Riviere of Roswell, their children Doug Riviere of Dahlonega and Nikki Riviere of Roswell, her parents Shakeep and Lou Kassem of Blacksburg, VA, and her in-laws Milton and Martha Riviere of Tucker. Also surviving are step daughter Melissa Riviere Hearn and her husband Rich Hearn of Lawrenceville and their children Becca Hearn and Bryan Hearn, and stepson Michael Riviere and his wife Megan Riviere of Covington and their children Hailey Riviere and Jackson Riviere. Survivors also include three sisters, Cherrie Kassem of West Milford, NJ, Lisa Kassem of Fairfield, CT, and Amy Leigh Kubicki of Raleigh, NC, four brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service to celebrate Dottie’s life will be held 11 AM, February 28, 2015 at Mount Pisgah UMC, 2850 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek, GA 30022. This will be followed by a reception in the narthex where the family will receive friends and family.
