About	BEYER, Elisabeth "Libby" Anne, 54, passed away January 30, 2012 at Hope Hospice, Fort Myers, Fla., after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Her parents, Jerry and Ruth Anne Beyer of Blacksburg, Va., preceded her in death. Libby received her BA degree from North Carolina State University and her MBA from Virginia Tech. She moved to Richmond, and was a longtime employee of the Virginia Education Association. It was in Richmond that Libby met Ray Curry, her significant other for 18 years. Libby and Ray spent their time between their homes in Richmond and Virginia Beach. For the past several years, they lived at Gulf Harbour in Fort Myers, Fla. Besides Ray, she is survived by her dog, Buddy Beyer; sister, Jenni Oliphant of Swansboro, N.C.; brother, Jerry Beyer of Fairfax, Va.; brother, Richard Beyer of Radford, Va.; and many, many friends. In her final days, Libby wrote the following about how she wished to be remembered: "I tried to love life, to be happy and to bring smiles and laughter to all that I came in contact with." She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 27 on the dock at Fisherman's Wharf Marina, Rudee Inlet, 500 Winston Salem Avenue, Virginia Beach. A reception will be held following the service at the Ocean Way Condominium party room. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society .
