About	Robert Shelley Rowell, 48, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Blacksburg, Va., died Friday, November 19, 2004, after a valiant fight against lung cancer. He is survived by his wife, Jean Barker Rowell; his mother, Helen R. Miller of Blacksburg, Va.; and two brothers and two sisters. Rob and Jean own a retail store and a real estate business. Rob had a passion for many things, but foremost was his concern for humane treatment of animals of all kinds, everywhere. Rob has donated many hours and resources to that cause wherever he lived; even during job assignment in Puerto Rico, he assisted a fledgling animal protection group there. The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy go to these causes: Foundation Save A Sato, Calle C. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 22, 2004 at 5 p.m. at the All Saints Catholic Church, 10900 W. Oakland Park Blvd, Sunrise, Fla.
