About Keith S. Provencher, 36
BIDDEFORD - Keith S. Provencher, 36, a loving husband and father, of Holbrook, Mass. died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his loving family from complications of Von Hipple-Lindau Syndrome. He valiantly fought VHL. It captured his body but not his spirit. His sense of humor was contagious and it helped put others at ease.

He was born in Portland on Sept. 5, 1976 the son of Robert R. & Priscilla C. McAuliffe Provencher. He was educated in Biddeford schools, graduated from Biddeford High School in 1994 and Nichols College in Dudley, Mass. in 1998. He worked three years with Barr Associates in Westford, Mass. and three years at Riverside Community Care in Dedham, Mass.

Keith met Elaine R. McGuire in June 2001 at La Kermesse Festival in Biddeford. On June 30, 2007 they married in St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.

For over eight years Keith has been working as a computer programmer at the corporated headquarters of Au Bon Pain restaurants in Boston, Mass.

In high school, Keith enjoyed playing football and was proud to be on two State Championship teams at Biddeford High School. He also enjoyed playing hockey from the age of three right through high school. His upbeat and courageous attitude through his illness was a tribute to the lessons learned from playing for his former football coach Mike Landry. His coach often quoted Martin Luther King saying, 'If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward'. He enjoyed sports and all the New England professional sports teams.
Surviving are his wife of six years of Holbrook, Mass.; two daughters, 3 year old Leah Provencher and 2 year old Keira Provencher both of Holbrook, Mass.; his parents of Biddeford; two sisters, Maureen Provencher of Biddeford, Patrice Tatro & her husband Michael of Saco, one brother, Brian Provencher of Deland, Fla.; two nieces, Anna and Sarah Tatro of Saco.
