About Dr. John C.B. McDonald, D.C., Age 73 of Bainbridge Township, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 9, 2023. John was born April 6, 1949, in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late John and Lois (Kenney) McDonald. A lifelong resident of the area, Dr. John graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1967 and later with a Doctorate’s degree in Chiropractic care from National College in Lombard, Illinois. In 1975, he joined his family’s business, becoming the third generation to serve the residents of Benton Harbor at McDonald Chiropractic Clinic. He loved spending time getting to know the needs of his patients so he could treat them properly and allow them to heal. After practicing for 45 years, he retired in 2020.

Surviving is his wife of 40 years, Margie (Benedix) McDonald and their son John (Cassie) McDonald. Surviving as well are his sisters Sharon (McDonald) Marsh and Becky (John) Howard along with several nieces and nephews. His nephew, Jonathan R. Marsh preceded him in death.

John will be laid to rest near his family in Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor, Michigan. A graveside service will be announced at a later date. Cruz Family Funeral Home of Osceola, Indiana is assisting with arrangements.

John was a longtime member of the Assembly of God – Blue Roof Church in St. Joseph. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting deer and pheasant with his son. Their trips to Northern Michigan will never be forgotten. John also enjoyed watching Michigan State Football. His kindness and compassion for his family and patients will never be forgotten.
