About	While Mike did not graduate with us he attended Belmont with us-when he -Awasn't playing hooky. He married a beautiful woman named Tonya. They had 2 sons, Michael Jr. and James Bryon Cartwright. Mike worked at NCR a while, but when he and Tonya divorced he became 1-A and was promptly sent to Vietnam. He stepped on a landmine near Danang. Tonya remarried someone whose last name was Welch and he adopted the boys. Mike Jr. married and moved to Tipp City area I think. I was in touch with his mother and older brother. But as happens over time I traveled a good bit cross-country many times a year and lost touch with their family. Before Mike left ha came to tell me he was going and he arrived unexpectedly a few minutes after my husband (CHD) tried to strangle me and the marks were red and turning blue. He stopped by the next day and told me he had talked to Tonya about my situation. They decided she would be y best friend and keep in touch with me every few days and if I needed saving she would call the police and she would come get me to stay at her house. When Mike died at the funeral home she refused to get in the family car and said she had been an immature fling he had and she knew Mike still loved me and would want me to be with the boys. I had my 5year old son with me so I declined. I tell all this so you know some troublesome people do finally grow up and become class A human beings. I have been very blessed to have had many in my life. God Bless us all as we make our immature mistakes while we are in the process ..."Of Becoming...."
