About	George apparently fell asleep at the wheel while driving to south Florida and died in the car accident that occurred. He will be greatly missed. here is his obituary as it appeared in the Florida Times Union and the Panama City News Herald: George Broderick Thorne THORNE George Broderick Thorne went to be with his Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ on December 5, 2007. George, son of John and Joy Thorne, was born on January 8, 1964 and grew up in Panama City, Florida. George graduated from Gulf Coast Community College and the Florida Police Academy. George proudly served as a police officer in Panama City for 12 years, and was most recently a Captain with the Baker County Sheriff's Reserve Force. George loved the Lord, loved his wife, Sandy and their precious son, Steven. George's celebration service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fellowship @ Celebration Baptist Church, 13720 McCormick Road, Jacksonville, FL 32225, (904) 220-2727. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at Arlington Park Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are invited to contribute to a trust set up for George's beloved son, Steven.
