About	Joe Griffith, died February 7, 2018 in Galveston, TX surrounded by his children. He was born July 2, 1945 to the late Joe C. Griffith and Nellie Frances Harrison Griffith. Mr Griffith was born and raised in Bay City, TX where he became a life long resident and 2nd generation rice farmer. Joe served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam War and was awarded The National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged and returned to Bay City, Tx where he married and had 3 beautiful children. He spent many years volunteering his time coaching his two sons little league baseball teams and helping with his kids 4-H projects. Joe had a unique perspective on life and was unimpressed by titles but was well loved and respected amongst his peers. Joe was an avid reader and in turn an amazing story teller. He was incredibly smart and his knowledge of endless subjects always gave him something insightful to offer. He was a wonderful listener and teacher, with a heart of gold and willing to help in any way he could. Second only to his heart, was his sense of humor and charm. Even in his last breaths he had all of us laughing. Joe’s shining achievement in his life were his children and grandchildren. He was honest, proud, thoughtful and witty beyond measure. He will be missed beyond comprehension. Joe was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and friend to many. Survivors include his daughter Megan Komar (Cole); sons Lance Griffith (Kim) and Dirk Griffith (Brooke); sister Kay Kaspar (Paul); nephew Jason Kaspar and grandchildren Chase, Anna, Evann, Sloane, Shaw and Bayln. In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by his sister Rebecca Sue Griffith. Visitation will be Monday, February 12, 2018, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Matt Springfield officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cole Komar, Jason Kaspar, Chase Griffith, Ralph Seidel, Ralph Seidel III, Skipper Osborne and George Harrison.
