About	Calvin Felix Summa, 69, of Alvin, passed away October 31, 2017 in Palestine, Texas. Calvin was born on October 17, 1948 in Pasadena to Felix Calvin and Nellie Pearl (West) Summa. Mr. Summa leaves a wife, three sons, and eight grandchildren. Calvin was preceded in death by his father, Felix Calvin Summa, in 2010. Survivors include his wife of 47 years and childhood sweetheart, Molly (Hastings) Summa, of Alvin; his mother, Nellie Pearl “Mickey” Summa, of Conroe; sister, Jane Saladino and her husband Joey of Kingwood; sons, Andy, Paul and Wade Summa, all of Alvin; daughters-in-law, Lauren (Ford) Summa, Denise (Mayton) Summa and Crystal (Stringer) Summa; grandchildren, Angel, Nathan, Claire, Quentin, Cooper, Grant, Audrey and Cynthia, all of Alvin. Mr. Summa grew up in Sweeny and graduated from Bay City High School in 1967. He earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Houston in 1972. After marrying in 1970, he and Molly settled in Alvin, where they raised three children. Mr. Summa retired from Valero Energy in 2009 after 31 years in the energy industry. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Park Chapel in Alvin.
