About	Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Johnson May 27, 1950 - March 27, 2017 Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Johnson, 66, of Blessing, Texas passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017, peacefully in her home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 27, 1950 in Seguin, to the late Orlando "Coach" and Edwina "Peggy" Schraub of Bay City. Cindy graduated from Bay City High School in 1968; she then would go on to receive her Bachelor of Science from Southwest Texas State University in 1973, fulfilling her dream of becoming an educator. She married Stuart Hoyt Johnson from Markham on June 27, 1970. She was a person of faith and lived life serving others. She dedicated 38 years of her life teaching science to students, 34 of those were with Palacios ISD. The faculty and students she encountered over the years became her lifelong friends and extended family, as she is so easy to love. Cindy enjoyed Si-Fi movies, Black Friday shopping with her daughters, cooking for her son, but she found her peace at the beach. She loved the sound of the waves and walking in the sand along the shoreline searching for shells with her grandkids in tow. Cindy's grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. Their hobbies quickly became her hobbies. The legacy of her kind spirit, determination, and zest for life will live on through them. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Palacios and frequently visited Calvary Baptist Church in Bay City with family. Cindy is survived by her husband, Stuart Johnson of Blessing; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Stephen "T-John" Crow of El Maton and Jamie and Nathan Boyd of Bryan; one son and daughter-in-law, Jake and Krystal Johnson of Midfield; her brother, Craig Schraub of Katy; her step-mother Marcella Schraub of Bay City; nine grandchildren, Logan Crow, Stratton Crow, Carrson Crow, Gage Boyd, Cannon Boyd, Gunner Boyd, Austin Smith, Addisyn Helfer, Ashlynn Helfer, and granddaughter number three (belonging to Jake and Krystal) arriving in August. She was preceded in death by her father, Orlando Schraub; mother, Edwina Schraub; and niece, Julie Schraub. Cindy's celebration of life is scheduled for 1 p.m. on March 30, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Palacios with the Rev. David King and the Rev. Jill Gertie (cousin) officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Palacios ISD for the Cindy Johnson Memorial Scholarship.
