About Bruce Odell Woodall, Jr.
(August 10, 1950 - February 3, 2016)
Bruce Odell Woodall, Jr., age 65 of San Antonio, was marked absent from the body and present with the Lord in the waning minutes of Wednesday, February 3, 2016.
Born on August 10, 1950, in Kingsville, Texas, to Bruce O. Woodall, Sr. and Katherine Lounell (Sory) Amsden, he was a spirited child, demonstrating his intent to blaze his own trail through this world. As a young man, Bruce entered into a 9-year partnership with the United States Army. While learning to serve both his country and his fellow man, his training in the medical sciences opened the door to chiropractic and 26 years of service to his patients.
An athlete at heart, Bruce would, and did, play any sport with a ball. Although he loved and played baseball, softball, and basketball well into adulthood, he truly cherished every moment he was allowed to spend on the golf course.
Blessed with an excellent ear for music, he played a self-taught guitar well, had an authentic voice, and reveled in pleasing any audience for whom he could play. He and his wife enjoyed the teamwork of a band, and it is reported that Bruce could hold his own on a country dance floor, too.
Bruce finished his journey through this world just the way he lived it: on his own terms, with dignity, without fear, and awash in the love of family and his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Welcoming Bruce at the gates to the Kingdom, just as she did into this world, was his mother, Katherine Lounell (Sory) Amsden. And should Jesus tarry, Bruce prepares a welcome into an ever-growing, grand reunion for his wife, Mary Kay Ogden-Woodall; his sisters, Marlene (Lee) Melde, Debbie (Walt) Krause, Candy (Tommy) Atkinson, Pam (Brett) Krause; his brother, Clay (Renee) Autery, Jr.; and his greatest treasures, his children, Elizabeth Ashley Woodall, Christopher Michael Woodall, Joshua Brian (Rachel) Woodall, Daniel Douglas (Sharilyn) Woodall, Thomas Cody Ogden, and Justin David Ogden.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 11, 2016, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Heart of Texas Cremations, 1830 South Presa Street, San Antonio, Texas 78210. A Memorial Service will be celebrated on February 20, 2016.
