Graduation Year Class of 1969
Date of Passing Jun 12, 2000
About George W. Glover, 48, closed his last cutting horse competition and joined his Savior on Monday, June 12, after a strong battle. Enshrined in the National Cutting Horse Association Hall of Fame, and a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where he served on the Cutting Horse Committee.

George is survived by his devoted wife Cynthia; five children: George W. Glover, Jr., Lindsay Glover, Robin Dickey, Courtney Burlison and husband Scott, and Meredith Dickey; brother Gary Glover, and mother Maxine Glover. Preceded in death by his father, William J. C. Glover.

The family thanks friends and staff of Memorial City Hospital who cheered George's brave fight and rekindled his spirit with tales of his loves -- cutting horses, hunting, fishing and ranching. George was a graduate from Texas A & I University in Kingsville and was a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church. Remebrances may be made to Chapelwood and United Methodist Fundation or the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship Fund.

A memorial service was conducted on Wednesday, June 14, at 2 p.m. at Chapelwood, and his favorite ranchland at the McSwane Ranch in Buffalo, Texas, will be his final resting place. Goodbye to a faithful and loyal husband, father, and friend, and we will think of you content with boots against a rail fence, surveying yet another Texas sunset.
