About	Melvin Joe Hickl was born June 4, 1949 in Bay City, Texas to Edward Hickl Sr. and Martha Kristek Hickl. Joe was raised in Bay City on the family farm with his brother Edward Hickl Jr., and his sister Cyndy Hickl Hahn. Joe attended Holy Cross Catholic School, and also Bay City High School from which he graduated in 1967. (His sweetheart, and future wife Pam, also attended Bay City High.) Joe graduated from Texas A&I University in 1971 with a degree in Industrial Education. In 1974 he received his Master's Degree in Education from Texas A&M University. Joe married his sweetheart Pamela Parr on March 25, 1978. They have two children Traci Jo Hickl Jackson, and Randy Parr Hickl. Joe and Pam's grandchildren are Ryen, Amaris, Camille, and Liv Sophia Jackson. Joe worked for 18 years at Texas Department of Corrections in Huntsville, Texas where he managed the media center for vocational training. He then went on to work for 20 years at Evans Cabinet & Doors in Brenham, Texas as General Manager. Joe served Jesus Christ with his whole heart as a man of action: giving his time, talents, and gifts to the local church. Joe is preceded in death by his father: Edward Hickl, Sr., and his in laws Bill & Margie Parr. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Pam Hickl; his daughter Traci, and son-in-law Michael Jackson; son Randy and daughter-in-law Emily; mother Martha Hickl Huston and Step-Father Tom Huston; brother Edward Hickl Jr. sister-in-law Barbara Hickl; sister Cindy Hickl Hahn and brother-in-law Charles Hahn; 4 granddaughters, 11 nieces & nephews, and 17 great nieces & nephews.
