About Funeral services for Borden Sidney (Sid) McMillan will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 17, 1998 at Columbia United Methodist Church in West Columbia, with interment following at Columbia Cemetery. Rex Carlton will conduct services with assistance from Horace McMillan. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16 at Baker Funeral Home.

McMillan died at his residence in Columbia Lakes on Dec. 15. He was born Nov. 10, 1942 in Rosenberg. He spent his early years in West Columbia and then moved to Bay City with his family.

He starred on the Bay City High School football team and later graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, where he also played football. McMillan was involved in the grass business for many years in Bay City. He returned to West Columbia in 1980 where he lived the rest of his life.

He was a member of Columbia United Methodist Church, the Brazosport Rotary Club, American Legion, Brazosport Chamber of Commerce, Greater Houston Builders Association and the past president of the Columbia-Brazoria Athletic Booster Club. McMillan was employed by Entex for more than 12 years, rising from the position of member of the work crew to District Manager at the time of his death.

McMillan is survived by his wife of 14 years, Peggy Lou Gupton McMillan; daughters, Kathryn McMillan Peebles and her husband Jeff Peebles of South Lake, TX and Kimberly Danford Clinch and her husband Tim Clinch of West Columbia; son, William D. Danford, Jr. of West Columbia, his mother, Jo Sidney McMillan of Bay City; sister, Karen McIntyre of Pearland; brother John C. McMillan, Jr. of Bay City; grand daughters, Julie Peebles and Taylor Peebles of South Lake; and grandson Samuel James Clinch of West Columbia.

Pallbearers will be Don Tankersley, Earl Saville, Gene Peil, Dudley Ksionda, Ed Derrich and Wes Griggs.

Honorary pallbearers are Jeff McMillan, Sidney Bradbury, Dr. Perry Mueller, Charles Lester, Roy Allen Ledbetter, John Wayne King, Otto Schultz, Tom Carl, Bruce Reber, Ed Horn, Pack Killingsworth, Steve Palmer, Benny Lewis, Dean Liollio, John Radar, III and F. J. Milberger.
