Timothy von Eiff is the President of Defensive Firearms Consultants, Inc. located at Continental Arms in Timonium, Maryland. He’s been a firearms instructor specializing in handgun and shotgun for over twenty years. His client list includes Circuit Court judges, prosecutors and criminal defense attorneys. Physicians, surgeons and dentists are clients as well. Former and prospective law enforcement officers and agents along with hundreds of business professionals further populate the growing list of Defensive Firearms Consultants’ clients.



Mr. von Eiff is a Certified Instructor in Handgun, Rifle and Shotgun. More to the point, he is a Maryland State Police Licensed Handgun Instructor. As such, he is able to certify prospective first time handgun owners for Maryland’s Handgun Qualification License, (HQL) and both the initial and renewal concealed carry permits. He is the past President of Maryland’s largest gun club, nationally recognized for its programs promoting firearms safety, recreational activities for Wounded Warriors recovering at the Walter Reed Military Medical Center and programs specifically designed to address the personal safety issues confronting women..



Prior to his “retirement”, Mr. von Eiff served as an intelligence analyst in federal law enforcement. A local Baltimorean, he is a graduate of Baltimore City College, took his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Scranton and holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree from The Catholic University of America.
