About Diane L. Christopherson, 66 of Austin, Minnesota, died at her home on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma.
She was born on October 5, 1950 in Austin, MN to Vera (Zachgo) & Earl Brechtel. She attended and graduated from Austin High School in 1968 and was employed at Mower County Health and Human Services as a Financial Worker.
Diane married Larry Christopherson at St. Olaf Lutheran Church on May 8, 1971.
She was an active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and enjoyed traveling, quilting, baking, reading and camping. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Christopherson, parents Earl and Vera Brechtel, and sister Denise Arends.
Diane is survived by her son: Wade Christopherson (Jill Lauer); daughters: Kelly Christopherson (Ryan Retterath), Kim (Jason) Cummings; five grandchildren: Samantha & Mitchell Cummings, Mhairi, Layla and Aubrie Christopherson; special friend: Gene Nelson; sisters: Debra (Dennis) Hansen; Bonnie Brechtel; brothers: David Brechtel; Scott (Katy) Brechtel; sisters-in-law: Jennel (Pete) Hines; Marlene (Orris) Ohm; Connie Sylvester; brothers-in-law: Dean (Edee) Christopherson; Ed (Debbie) Christopherson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 17th at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Reverend Susan Li officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM and on Monday for one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to St. Olaf Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.
