About	Richard Edward Webber, Jr., 60, of Ames passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames Richard Edward Webber Jr., the son of Richard E. and Elaine Skogebo Webber Sr., was born May 21, 1951 at St Olaf Hospital in Austin, Minnesota. He attended the Austin Community Schools, graduating in 1970. Following his graduation, he worked as a printer for Green Giant. In December 1971 he enlisted in the United States Army in which he served proudly. Following his discharge in 1974 he returned to work at Green Giant as well as being an Amway distributor. He attended Mankato State University briefly. He worked for various print shops including Park Press in St. Cloud, Minnesota and Dakota Farmer/North Plains Press in Aberdeen, South Dakota and then he opened his own print shop, ebsko Printing, in his lake home at Mina, South Dakota. On September 7, 1991 he was united in marriage to Jolene Harris at her home in Eagle Grove, Iowa. They continued to live in the Aberdeen area until January 1994 when they moved to Minnesota where he worked for Quality Pork for about three months before deciding he wanted back into the printing business. He worked for Game Tec printing lottery tickets. In 1995 they moved to the Ames, Iowa area to be near her sister and family. He worked various jobs until he was hired to work as a custodian for the Ames Community School District. It was at this time his health started to fail – he had 3 heart surgeries in 6 months. Later he was employed by the federal government as a custodian at the National Animal Disease Center in Ames – a position he held until he retired due to health reasons in 2002. In April 2003 he had his last heart surgery in Houston, Texas. Following this surgery his health declined rapidly. In April 2011 he entered the Baxter Health Care Center in Baxter, Iowa. Following a brief hospital stay on July 23, 2011, he entered the Israel Family Hospice House where he died the following day. He is survived by his wife, Jolene; his mother, Elaine Webber Fjerstad, Adams, Minnesota; his brother, Douglas (Sandra) Webber, Plymouth, MN; his 3 sisters, Trudy (Alfredo) Cruz, Sioux Falls.SD; Beverly Webber, Austin, Minnesota and Luann (Scott) Schmidt; New London, MN, his sister-in-law, Debra (Irvin) Schoelkoph, Ames, Iowa; and 5 nieces and 4 nephews and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Webber, Sr., his step-father, Harvey Fjerstad and his nephew, Zacherias Cruz.
