John Speraw, born on October 18, 1971 in Arcadia, California, is a celebrated American volleyball coach known for his remarkable achievements in the field. He is a notable alumnus of Arcadia High School, in Arcadia, California (CA).

As a former player, Speraw played a pivotal role as a middle blocker for the UCLA Bruins men's volleyball team, contributing to their two NCAA National Championships. Then, transitioning into coaching, his excellence on the court carried over. Speraw is the only individual in men's volleyball history to win an NCAA Championship as a head coach, assistant coach, and player.

Speraw served as the head coach for the UC Irvine Anteaters men's volleyball team, leading them to three national titles in six years. His coaching prowess isn't just limited to college volleyball though, as he's also made significant impact on the international stage. Speraw was a part of the U.S. National Indoor Team's coaching staff, assisting the team to a gold medal victory at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He then took the head coach position for the same team, leading them to a Bronze medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

In addition to his Olympic success, Speraw has also been recognized for his contribution to the sport with individual accolades. These include being awarded MPSF Coach of the Year in 2006. He added another prestigious title to his list of achievements in 2023, when the UCLA team under his leadership won their first national title since 2006.

Presently, John Speraw is the head coach of both the UCLA men’s volleyball team and the U.S. men's volleyball team.
