Mahoney Jr., and his wife, Patricia, of Lakeville, MA and the late Margaret C. (DeRoma) Mahoney. Born in Boston, he previously lived in Lakeville; he lived in Virginia three years. He was educated at Sacred Heart School in Kingston, MA and Apponequet High School in Lakeville. He was finishing his nursing degree in Virginia.
