Martin Tevaseu

Football player for the Indianapolis Colts

What is Martin Tevaseu known for?

Martin Tauamanu Tevaseu, also known as Martin Tevaseu, is a former American football nose tackle, who was born on October 7, 1987 in Oakland, California. Raised in Boonville, California, he attended Anderson Valley High School. As a player of Samoan descent, Tevaseu's career in American football began to blossom when he signed a letter of intent to play college football for the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Unfortunately, a severe knee injury during practice changed his plans. Despite this setback, Tevaseu did not give up on his dreams of playing football. After recovering, he played at Santa Rosa Junior College before transferring to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

Tevaseu's professional career began when he signed with the Cleveland Browns in 2010 as an undrafted free agent. However, his tenure with them was cut short as the Browns waived Tevaseu a month after signing him. He then signed with the New York Jets in July 2010, where despite suffering a broken hand early in training camp, he impressed the team with his tenacity and dedication to the sport.

After a series of signings and releases, Tevaseu eventually landed a spot on the active roster of the Indianapolis Colts in September 2012. During his NFL career, Tevaseu achieved a total of 13 tackles. Unfortunately, his career with the Colts ended when he was released in August 2013, as the team reduced their roster to the league-mandated 53 players for the start of the season. Today, Martin now works as a defensive line coach for Santa Rosa Junior College.

On a personal note, Tevaseu comes from a large family. He has several siblings, two brothers and five sisters. He also has a familial connection to football, as he is the cousin of former UNLV Rebel and fullback, Frank Summers.
