Christopher Mehay graduated from Anchor Bay in 2003. He attended Macomb
Community College during the 2003-2004 academic year, where he competed on
the Cross Country and Track teams. Christopher then transferred to Wayne
State University, where he was a member of the Cross Country Team for three
years. Now I could fill this page with all the honors and awards
Christopher has earned, but I am just going to highlight his running career.
While at Anchor Bay, Christopher set two school records, breaking one that
was over 20 years old. He competed at Cross Country and Track States where
he placed 14th and 9th respectively. Christopher continued on at Macomb
Community College where he was named NJCAA All-State, All-Region, and earned
MVP honors. In 2004, while running for Wayne State University he qualified
for the NCAA National Championships. Then in 2005, Christopher earned
All-GLIAC Second team Honors. He also earned All-Region Honors while
qualifying again for the NCAA National Championships. He placed 37th
overall earning All-American Honors. Christopher was Wayne State's top
runner and finished in the top ten on five occasions, including two
runner-up finishes.
Christopher's senior year held his top performances and his highest
accomplishments. In 2006, he won two invitationals and was runner -up
at another. Christopher was named GLIAC Runner of the Week & Warrior of the
Week (9/20/06). He was again named Second team All-GLIAC. He also earned
All-Region and qualified for the NCAA National Championships. At the NCAA
National Champions he placed 28th overall and earned All-American Honors for
a second time. He was the frist cross country runner at Wayne State to ever earn back to back All-American Honors.
Christopher is currently working for K&K Electric Company in Sanford, Flordia. He has been with the company since 2007 with plans of returning to Michigan.
