I am an alumni from AHS 1977 and Jack Felmet was my history teacher. He was an amazing inspiration to my life and I would love to nominate him for a Teacher Alumni Hall of Fame. He helped so many students in his career for the Beaverton School District. My favorite story is that I wanted to go to my senior prom but had no money. He knew I came from a big family and that our budget was tight. He asked if I wanted to come to his house and do some chores to earn some money. I jumped at the chance. I spent the whole day working in his yard and finished helping moving some things around. He game me enough money to buy my prom dress and I will never forget his act of kindness. I now work for the district and I use him as an example as I work with students who are in similar situations. Mr. Felmet touched me in so many ways and because of him I love to learn and love history. Thanks Jack for being my mentor. You were such a wonderful inspiration to so many students! I don't have a picture of Jack but this is a AHS student who I have worked with that will be graduating this year and joining the Air Force.
