What a wonderful 50th REUNION held on June 27th and 28th. The reception started in the media room at the high school. We were presented with carnation corsages and men boutonniere. A picture was taken of all the classmates. After the reception we went to the auditorium, Jean Printup announced our names as we each individually stood up to be recognized. Charlie Yaeger gave a short speech and made comments for the class of 2008. Following the graduation those that wanted to tour the school went to the gazebo for pop and socializing after which Jan Rosenburg gave us a tour of the school. We all reminisced about that, especially kindergarten and the nurses office where it is now all offices. Those who did not care to go went to The Village Inn on Cedar Street for an Ice Breaker. The tour brought back many memories and was very interesting. The auditorium is now the cafeteria and the pool is now olympic size with a exercise room next to it that has tons of equpment that was provided by Mr. Greatbach. He passed away several years ago at 35 and was very strong on physical fitness.
Saturday afternoon they opened up the octagon house for the class to tour. That was fabulous. To think for over 60 years I have wanted to visit that home. It is so beautiful. The restoration is unbelievable and the house is filled with mostly items of past and present Akronites with their names mentioned. After the tour we were invited to David and Joann Ranneys.
